Clearer processes and more reliable order handling
How process mapping, optimisation and Odoo implementation improved daily work for a distribution business in Ghana.
Low-stock items across multiple orders created warehouse difficulties and repeated sales-order amendments.
Map and optimise processes, improve order entry and introduce appropriate system controls.
Smoother operations, fewer order errors and more reliable system information.
When order problems reach the warehouse
Low-stock items could appear across multiple sales orders without adequate restrictions. The warehouse team faced fulfilment difficulties, and sales orders frequently needed to be amended.
Sales-order entry was also slow. The business needed easier ways to capture orders and greater confidence in the information used during daily work.
Start with the process
Consigliere mapped how work moved through the business and identified opportunities to optimise it. This consulting work informed the workflows and controls implemented in Odoo.
The engagement connected process decisions with the system changes needed to support them.
Put the improvements into daily use
- Order controls: introduced restrictions to address the recurring low-stock order issue.
- Sales-order entry: provided simpler, faster ways to capture orders, with more flexibility in how the task is performed.
- User access: refined permissions to support users’ responsibilities while strengthening control over the system.
The original agreed scope was delivered.
What we observed afterwards
Following delivery, we observed smoother operations and fewer order errors. Sales-order entry became easier and less time-consuming, while system information became more reliable.
These improvements reflect Consigliere’s observations during the engagement. They are qualitative outcomes, rather than measured performance figures or a client testimonial.
A connected engagement
Process mapping and optimisation formed part of the consulting work, alongside Odoo implementation. Together, they addressed both how work was organised and how the system supported it.
